The Crypt of the Holy Family had had a 1926 organ that was destroyed at the beginning of the Spanish Civil War in 1936.
Providently, the opportunity to restore it has appeared with the only Cavaillé-Coll organ in Catalonia.

the Congregation of the Sacred Heart has had the immense kindness to give it to the Sagrada Familia.
The organ fits perfectly into the place because it is in the same Neo-Gothic style as the crypt, it perfectly fits in the space… Musically it also fits in since it is very similar to the previous organ, a romantic sonority organ with two manuals and an swell box.
The sound of this instrument is wide and welcoming, ideal for a liturgical chor accompaniment and also for concerts.
The organ was inaugurated on March 19, 2021, regularly accompanies crypt celebrations and is also used for organ lessons.
With this, the Crypt will recover the instrument it had, and Barcelona will expand its organic fabric with the launch of a legendary Cavaillé-Coll, next to the tomb of Antoni Gaudí!
